I get it.
Insurance can feel confusing, expensive, and easy to put off until something goes wrong. But that’s exactly why the conversation matters.
My name is Will Jansen, and I own The Jansen Agency, LLC — an American Family Insurance agency based in Maple Grove, Minnesota. We help families, individuals, and business owners across the Twin Cities area with auto, home, life, renters, business, umbrella, farm, and other insurance needs.
But before I was an insurance agent, I was a first responder.
That experience changed how I think about this work. I’ve seen how fast life can shift, and I’ve watched families navigate some of their hardest moments with little warning and sometimes little preparation. That’s not something you forget.
It’s also why I don’t treat insurance like a transaction.
To me, it’s about helping people prepare for the things they hope never happen — before those things happen.
What That Looks Like at Our Agency
My goal isn’t to throw coverage jargon at you or pressure you into a policy you don’t fully understand. My goal is to educate first.
I want you to know what you have, what you might be missing, and what questions you should be asking. Sometimes that leads to changes. Sometimes it confirms you’re already in a solid spot. Either way, you should leave the conversation with clarity — not confusion.
One of the most common things I hear from new clients is that they haven’t reviewed their insurance in years. That’s more common than you’d think, and it’s also where problems tend to show up.
Life moves fast. You buy a home, add a teenage driver, start a business, have kids, change jobs, finish a basement, or build up assets — and your coverage should keep up with all of it. Most of the time, it doesn’t on its own.
That’s where we come in.
